Enjoy internationally acclaimed artist, Mike Massé for your entertainment. Mike comes to us from Colorado where he has built a YouTube following of more than 160 Million fans. Eric Hernandez, professional actor, and dancer has performed over 2,500 shows in 19 different countries as the principal dancer/character in the Cirque du Soleil touring production, Totem. Eric, a descendent of the Lumbee Tribe in North Carolina, will show us hoop dancing. Cirque du Soleil Totem Interview
Dr. Stephanie Beavers, Special Programs Counselor from Columbia Community College, will tell us about the Food Sovereignty Movement that’s sweeping the nation.. She is also the liaison for Columbia College and local tribal Nations. Stephanie is an enrolled member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe.
Food and Drink
Included in the $40 ticket price is an authentic Native American Dinner consisting of: Bison Stew (Vegetarian option available), Three Sisters Salad, Blue Cornbread and a chilled Blueberry/ Blackberry Crumble Compote for dessert. The meal incorporates the fruits, vegetables, meat and seasonings used by Native Americans.
No host bar where you can enjoy wine or bottled water. Please, no outside food/drinks allowed.
This is a family friendly all ages event. The program will benefit the Calaveras Mentoring project, which matches youth with stable, vetted adults for guidance and role modeling.
